Join us on Sunday, September 30th to celebrate National Blood Cancer Awareness month at Raise A Paw Against Leukemia at Simsbury Meadows from 10am to 2pm.

In addition to our Vendor Fair, Food Trucks and Pet Portraits we will be hosting a Dog Walk and Challenge Course to benefit families fighting blood cancer right here in Connecticut.

The Dog Walk is a leisurely stroll around the perimeter of the Challenge Course, go at your own pace, go around as many times as you like!

Don't tucker your pooch out on the walk before they have a chance to test their agility on our 10 obstacle Challenge Course! Don't worry, it's just for fun and we will have volunteers on hand to show you the ropes and even snap a pic for you if you'd like!

challenge course obstacles

Ramp it Up! - dog walks up and down a simple ramp
Jump! - dog jumps over the wall of his/owner’s choice - 6”, 12”, 18”
Crazy Curves - dog & owner walk through a path filled with S curves
Hoop Step - dog & owner walk from hoop to hoop (any order they choose, hoops touch each other), getting all paws (dog and owner) inside each hoop
Weave Around - dog & owner walk along path, weaving in and out of poles set in the ground
Balance Out - dog walks on low-to-the-ground ‘balance beam,’ which is a board about 12-16” wide
Sit & Stay a While - dog sits inside a designated area on the ground, stays as long as the owner decides
Cha, Cha, Cha! - dog & owner dance inside a designated area (however owner decides they should dance)
It Gets Tricky! - dog does a trick, at owner’s command, within a designated area
Raise a Paw! - dog raises a paw, in whatever way the owner decides (high 5, shake, etc.), within a designated area
