The Rob Branham Foundation provides two primary services directly to families, in addition to helping them connect to other resources that may be of help as they battle blood cancer. Fundraising is a major component of how we fund our services, with the focus on events being family-oriented and fun. Direct donations are also appreciated and tax deductible.
The ultimate goal of the Rob Direct program is to help families maintain financial stability during treatment when it has caused them to be in severe financial distress and they are unable to pay their monthly living expenses.
Financial assistance is provided primarily to families in Connecticut.
Families who are seeking assistance must work with their hospital social worker to apply, and provide documentation showing their financial need. Assistance might come in the form of a one-time grant, or extend over a longer period of time, depending on the family’s situation. If a family receives financial assistance, they will be ineligible to apply again for 12 months after the assistance ends.
As an organization, we also work with the social worker to suggest additional sources of assistance.
Rob Right Now
Families in crisis can’t wait for help….they need it as soon as possible. That’s why Rob Right Now! was created - to provide short term, emergency assistance to a family that faces an extreme struggle, such as possible eviction, lack of food in the house, or the loss of power where they live.
Rob Right Now! can provide one-time, limited financial assistance, based on a very simple application, that will help the family resolve the immediate crisis. Families who are seeking assistance must work with their hospital social worker to apply, and will be asked to provide minimal documentation showing their financial need. Families who receive assistance through Rob Right Now! are eligible to apply to Rob Direct at any time.
With a goal of providing financial assistance to families facing dire financial stress, fundraising is an important piece of The Rob Branham Foundation’s work. In keeping with Rob’s nature, our events are designed to focus on the fun we can all have in fundraising for a good cause. Many of our events are family-oriented so children can begin to learn the importance of helping those less fortunate.
